let's leave the world for the ones Riley had just finished making a batch of cookies, having planned on hanging out with her friends once she gets off of her shift today. She set the tray on the counter in their kitchen before walking up the stairs into her room. After a few minutes she returned to the kitchen to place the cookies on a paper plate before setting it inside of a basket. She peeked out of the kitchen to see her mother was at the counter helping a customer, "I'll see you later mom." She waved before exiting out the backdoor. Her friends wanted to meet in the outskirts today, she wasn't completely sure why she had agreed to go all the way out there but it was too late to back out now so she had paid for a taxi to drive her to the edge of town.
Once she had made it to the outskirts, she started walking into the forest. If those guys scare the crap out of me, they will pay. She thought to herself, determined to be brave as she continued walking, holding the basket in front of her with both hands. Walking in the forest alone was creepy, it took a lot of effort to keep walking forward. Where are there? She thought to herself, unaware of the fact that she might not be alone out here.

I know this isn't much but I know I could I could be better [attr="class","nPost"]Pointed ears twitched, dark lashes fluttering closed. His head tilted to the canopy of trees overhead, carefully poised so that he would not touch the tree trunk behind him. He sat there in silence, simply enjoying the faint breeze and listening to the sounds of the forest. The distant chirping of the birds that returned from their winter migration--traitors--the crunch of grass beneath hooves and feet, and buzzing of bees... Wait, feet?
His ears drew forward, a frowning turning down the corners of his lips. Leaning his head forward, he blinked open his eyes. Waiting and listening, he slowly began standing up with every intention to leave. He wanted nothing to do with humans today, and he was convinced they never wanted anything to do with him. Pulling out his long hair from beneath him, he only managed to take a single step forward before he paused, taking a few experimental sniffs at the air. He could smell... something... sweet? Baked goods, no doubt. Hm...
Nychta crouched down and changed directions to follow the scent. Within time, he found the source: a dark haired woman with a basket. He supposed it was unbecoming of a god to steal, yet as his eyes zeroed in on the basket he reminded himself that he did not have the following to make him bother with manners or what is right and wrong. Lowering himself further, he moved along on all fours--probably also unbecoming, but he never had the guidance growing up to learn that. His movements were careful and soft, making sure that no sound was made as he stalked the human from afar. let's leave the world for the ones Riley continued moving forward, the faster she got through the forest, the faster she could meet up with her friends. The last thing she wanted was to turn out and be called a chicken later on. It was somewhat relaxing to hear the birds chirping but couldn't help but wonder what else might be lurking out here. She was all for visiting at the beach but being told to meet her friends in the forest was somewhat nerve wreaking. Her cell phone went off, she stopped moving to grip the basket in her left hand as she looked at her phone to see the message. Oh great, they aren't even here yet... She thought to herself somewhat annoyed as she shoved the phone back in her pocket before grabbing the basket with both hands before walking forward again.
You know what, they aren't even here yet. I could turn around and go wait for them. No... then I would have to walk in the forest again. But at least this time I could walk with them... But I really don't want to turn around and head back.... It was hard to decide on the direction she planned on going but she continued going forward as if she wasn't arguing with herself in her mind. After a few minutes of walking she had stopped once. I really don't like walking out here all alone.... With her mind made up, she turned around, planning on walking back the way she had come from moments prior.

I know this isn't much but I know I could I could be better [attr="class","nPost"]Dedicated to his task yet slowly wondering if he should abandon it and simply turn away and never look back, Nychta continued to follow the human through the forest. He ignored the strange looks he received from a couple of squirrels who paused their spiraling climb up a tree to watch him, and he ignored the discomfort in his hands from touching so much grass. Rock and snow, that was what he was built for. Dark eyes remained alert, following the woman's every movement while making sure to keep himself from running into anything. She stopped, and he froze, muscles tense and eyes unblinking. Should he duck behind a tree? Run? What was that in her hand? Probably one of those weird things he had seen humans using within the past couple of decades.
Curiosity picked at him as he watched the woman, but he quickly blinked it away the moment the odd object was in her pocket once more and she was moving. With a slight shake to his form, he started forward, trailing after her like he had before. Slow, cautious steps, constant observation, it was easy to become lost in the movements. He dared to draw closer, dark eyes pulling their attention to the basket where the sweet smell was coming from.
Closer... Closer...
He was maybe four arm lengths away before the human suddenly stopped, and so did he. His eyes widened, form stiffening. She was turning, and he had foolishly allowed himself to get too close. There was no where to hide. Slowly, as if it would do him any good, he shrunk back, wide black eyes staring the woman down like a wild animal caught in a trap. let's leave the world for the ones Riley saw the man with horns standing four arm lengths away from her, she froze as she looked at him. Even with him moving away slowly she couldn't tear her eyes away from him. She was screaming on the inside. He.... he isn't human.... She couldn't move, her mouth was stiff from freight. It took effort to not faint from the shock of realizing she was fully awake and not asleep. She blinked, coming to realize something. If this wasn't a dream, that just meant she had met him before. There would be only one way to find out.
She continued looking into his eyes, moving her hand from the handle of the basket to open it slightly before sticking her hand inside of it. Her hand gripped onto the side of a cookie and she pulled it out of the basket before reaching her hand out to offer it to him. If met him before, it has been so long but I'm sure that he is who I met all those years ago... Of course than she had come to terms with believing it had only been a dream but it turned out it was real, he was real. "Have we met before?" She was sure to ask politely hoping he'd give her an answer.
I hope he doesn't walk away, not again.... She thought to herself, as she prepared herself for giving him the whole basket of cookies. They aren't here, it is there loss. She wasn't about to feel guilty if her friends didn't get any cookies at this point.
