i never told a lie, and that makes me a liar. ❝ click click clickthe sound of heels snapping against the pier. eyes followed the tall mistress as she gallivanted her way toward's angler's. pink hair billowing out behind her in the cool breeze, leaving a faint trace of flowers and honey behind. the sound of water lapping at the pier was a peaceful sound that was drowned out by the voices of pesky humans. red eyes narrowed just thinking about them, lips quivering as she held back an aggressive 'shut UP!' there was no need to cause a scene, not today. red lips pulled back into a smile, trying so hard to seem at peace. to seem normal. click click cli- the sound stopped as she approached the doors to angler's. she checked the reflection of herself in the window, hoping to see that fake smile still plastered to her lips. it was, despite how exhausting it was. dainty hands opened the doors, long legs carried her in. with an air of confidence, the woman didn't even bother waiting to be seated. someone would scurry along to her eventually to hand her a menu. she wasn't interested in having simple pleasantries with people who hated their jobs, pretending to be happy just like her. people chattered around her, and for a very brief moment, the witch almost wished for a companionship that these people had. then she remembered how much she hated people, unless of course she was getting something out of them. one arm laid carelessly on the table, while another was propped up under her chin. red eyes watched the world move on around her outside the restaurant, watched the waves crash against the shore. people held hands and gushed over each other, families laid lazily on the beach, children building sandcastles with friends. [attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"]❝ A faint sheen of sweat was beginning to coalesce against Davis's forehead, and it was taking every ounce of his willpower to avoid hopping on top of the bar and crashing there until he was allowed to go home. For some reason everyone in town decided that Angler's was the ideal spot for a lunch break, right when Davis was at his most exhausted -- but sure, it was fine. He could deal. The thing is, Davis has always loved his job, always favored the social aspect of serving over most other entry-level operations. He preferred it to the repetition of being a cashier, at least, but busy days always had a tendency of sapping the fun out of everything. He didn't have time to stop and chat with anyone, and with that aspect removed, the rest of his job chopped up to frantic routine: take an order, place that order, wash a table or two.Easy enough, but predictable. Boring, even.So when business started to slow down, Davis was overjoyed to take advantage of his relaxation time. He sat at the bar, drumming his fingers against the table in the vague hope that he might regain feeling in them before they needed him back on the floor. Then, by some stroke of fate, she walked in.The hair alone was more than enough to draw his attention. He had never seen anyone like that walk into Angler's, never seen anyone like that in his entire life. He stared on with rapt attention as she just... walked to a table at the back and sat down. She didn't even wait to be waited on. She probably didn't even need to, really. Her bold stride, her sharp features, her stunning outfit. For god's sake, her hair. Davis felt like he was about to vomit, but in the good way. In the 'wow, you're the coolest person I've ever seen in my life and I don't know how to handle this' way. Luckily for him, no one on staff approached her table for a good thirty seconds, so Davis took it upon himself to cut his break a little short. In his rush to be the first waiter at her table, he grabbed the child's menu instead of the usual one, and he also might have tripped over the edge of someone's chair.Typical protocol required that he was to initiate an order with 'Hello, welcome to Angler's! Would you like to try our Lobster Special?', but what actually came out of his mouth was -- "Is your hair natural? Or did you, like, get it done somewhere? It looks really, uh -- really good. I'm Davis."As soon as the last two words left his mouth, he blanched.. | [attr="class","white"] [attr="class","night"] [attr="class","burstmini"]420 w. lol [attr="class","burstmini"]notes: i love this so much and im not ready in the slightest |

i never told a lie, and that makes me a liar. ❝ is your hair natural? or did you, like, get it done somewhere? it looks really, uh -- really good. i'm Davis." peace and quiet shattered. her pale face scrunched up in anger, but quickly she composed herself, turning that scowl into a sweet smile. with an astounding amount of grace, the witch turned to face davis. a light pink tint flushed her cheeks as she blushed at the compliment. "a magician never reveals her secrets." the young witch purred. red eyes looked the young man over. he was cute, despite the fact that he was a little sweaty. "i'm juniper, by the way." for a moment she almost felt bad for him, because she knew what affect she had on him. she could see it in his blanched out face. while she was used to people fawning over her, this waiter was taking it to a whole new level. "i see you brought me a menu." her smile was coy, noticing that the menu was in fact for children. "i'll take that as a compliment." then came that laugh. it was a laugh she had perfected with and without a tad bit of magic. the kind of laugh that makes people turn their heads and yearn to find out where that sound had come from. a dainty finger carelessly twirled a strand of pink hair, red eyes watching him intently, almost as if she was trying to search into his soul. which there was no doubt there was indeed a pure soul hidden inside; too pure for her malevolent hands. "i've never been here before, but maybe since you work here you could suggest something to me?" it was a lie of course. she'd been coming to angler's for a long time, but usually under a different disguise. little did she ever leave the house without one, except for today she decided to embrace her natural beauty.
