[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]The first memories that Ambrose can recall is walking through darkness, he wasn’t sure what he was looking for. He knew he had to keep walking, if he had stopped then he would miss it or never find it. When his legs were close to giving out, the pillar of fire lite the sky. A beacon in the ocean of night, the closer he drew to it the warmer he felt. Ambrose had found the celebration of midsummer, wine was poured and people were indulging themselves. This was what he wanted, he betrothed himself to the world. The world was a new frontier, something he had no knowledge or understanding. The only thing he knew was the wine flowed and the world stopped for a minute every summer, it was his time to bless the world with his presence. [break]
Plenty of people worshipped the god of summer, he brought in warmth, wealth, and some believed love. [break]
‘WHAT IS LOVE?’[break]
Ambrose always wanted to ask when he received prayers, he never experienced the love… People really wanted it, they wished for it more than wealth. That was when he decided to ask a wizard, he was wise and wished for power. Ambrose figured it would be an even exchange of goods, . The question sparked a fit of laughter from the wizard, he couldn’t believe a god was asking. Not that the god of summer enjoyed being laughed at, but he endured it until the wizard calmed down enough. The wizard offered him a spell to allow him to experience love, in exchange the god had to give him immortality. Ambrose thought the deal was hilarious, in turn the wizard had to wait for the god’s laughter to cease. [break]
The wizard gave him a vial to drink, giving him mortality for a year. After the last drop dripped down his throat, he set out to find love for curiosity sake. After a month or two, he found himself returning to a restaurant. The young man worked himself to the wee hours every night, serving drinks to thankless strangers and cooking food for hungry mouths. Ambrose became a regular and learned all he could, but always yearned to learn more about him. The young man named Philip, he ran the restaurant to afford medicine for his parents. Philip loved summer rain storms, he loved smoking pipe tobacco, and had a small lisp when he was a kid. Ambrose was smitten with the man, he had no real idea why he enjoyed all his talking.
[break]
One evening he entered the restaurant, something seemed off with Philip. He was sluggish and kept covering his mouth and coughing, it became apparent that he was ill. When he asked him why he wasn’t resting, Philip told him that he had to get money for his parents as their just as ill. Time passed as he watched the young man slowly deteriorate, until he didn’t open the restaurant anymore. Ambrose went to the wizard and begged for a cure, but that was outside of his expertise... It wasn’t until the wizard had told him to simply cure him, which Ambrose reminded him that he was currently a mortal. [break]
‘YOU'RE A GOD, HOW CAN I TAKE YOUR IMMORALITY?’[break]
Ambrose was overjoyed, he could make Philip and his parents better. When he cast his magic over them, the family began to regain their health. Ambrose was thrilled about their recovery, he couldn’t wait to tell them about his powers and his love for Philip. Except that never got to happen, when the town noticed their sudden recovery. Philip and his family were suspects in Faustian dealings, executed for their black magic. This broke Ambrose’s heart and angered him, that summer the town was set ablaze in a wildfire. Plenty of years passed before he repaid the wizard for his trick, his immortality was being transformed into a Oak Tree. [break]
After past experience, his thoughts and feelings towards people had changed greatly. Prayers ignored and blessings never given, he doesn't see the point in them. Humans are temporary to the world, why waste time on something so senseless?
