Spiders are predatory arachnids known for their eight legs, beautifully woven webs, and their dangerous venom. Many are quick to run from these creatures or to show them the bottom of their shoe. Vermin to most, but family to another.

Zed was born in a family of eight: seven older sisters and his mother. To his knowledge, he was the youngest sibling and his mom, by the time he was born, was a single parent. His mother used to joke that typical of a spider, she ate her mate. Nightmares. This solidified his slight fear of women, but in some ways shaped him to be a more reserved individual growing up.

In fact, due to his strong and aggressive facial expression, he intimidated many kids. He was more used to either being bullied or left to himself. Some may have called it lonely but since it was all he knew, he didn’t think it was sad at all. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. His mother was a wizard that specialized in magic that dealt with spiders. Weaving was literally what sewed their little family together. It was the only thing he really had in common with his mother and sisters. Being alone a lot of times, he had a lot of time to hone his skills and also befriend these eight-legged creatures.

As he got older, he learned to use the spider silk for practical uses. Rather than clothes and tapestry, he weaved bandages and sutures. He was determined to become a doctor, and especially support those who couldn’t afford their own doctor. His mother always called him foolish for taking ‘I owe you’s’ or other odd forms of payment, but that never really bothered him.

Zed, now living on his own, has finally opened his own small little clinic in Symphonia. Come in for a visit, if you will.
