NÝCHTA 400 yrs / god of winter / demisexual overview Nychta has lived a long life of rejection and solitude. He was born alone in the mountains of Greece and spent the better portion of his life roaming Europe and Asia, often sticking around in places like Sweden and Siberia since it was not uncommon for long and harsh winters. Once upon a time, he enjoyed the presence of humans. Or, at least, he tried to. Every attempt he made to reach out to human civilizations ended with him being treated like a monster, though he never understood why his appearance was so monstrous to them. Perhaps it was because they could not understand, either. In time, their view towards him became his own view toward himself. In his mind, he became a monster, not a god. The one good encounter he had with humans gave him a name but also caused him to delay a war by creating a blizzard after soldiers killed the family and burned down their house. He still blames himself for their deaths, knowing that he could have saved them had he kept his promise. where to find him Nychta can be most easily found on the outskirts of town and especially within the forest. He usually only ventures into Symphonia at night unless he is being led around by someone's dog or cat. relationship ideas So, rather than doing the typical friends, enemies, lovers blurbs, I'm just going to throw down some plot and relationship ideas. No one has to take them, and please feel free to pitch your own. I will most likely accept any idea as long as it isn't an instant romance! Speaking of romance, he does not care about your gender or what's in your pants. As long as you can capture his heart and make it flutter, it'll work. Maybe. renewed faith It's very obvious that Nychta is not one for the presence of humans. They have hated him all his life, and the feeling became mutual after constant rejection. Nychta does, however, find himself seeking someone who is like the little girl he had befriended: someone who does not initially see him as a monster, someone who can see past the feathers, fur, horns, wings, and odd ears. This would be someone or multiple someones who take an interest in Nychta after seeing him doing something or another (possibly playing with squirrels or someone's cat or even sleeping in the forest surrounded by deer) and try persistently to get him to open up to them. He is far more hesitant to accept friendship from a mortal or even another god, so having a human or even a witch/wizard strive for his friendship and acceptance would be super great and probably very cute. heart of ice Nychta is the type of person who is insecure about himself and his relationships. This idea can easily stem off the first or be entirely different: someone he finds himself getting close to at an alarming rate (for him, at least, anything that doesn't take years is too fast) that causes him to feel confused and start lashing out and pushing them away because it scares him. Possible romance plot or a possible plot where he screws up because it and loses a friend! Or both.

But I see some potential for like....a weird friendship between these two?? Like I'm sure they've had some sort of interaction in the past three years that Cecil has lived in the town since he kind of keeps to the outskirts of the city as well. And like Cecil would have been initially like a little (or a lot) freaked out upon seeing him (wtf is a god doing here) but like chosen to almost...ignore it? Like the whole, if I don't acknowledge him maybe he will go away.

So maybe over the years, they've just sort of become like...chill friends?? Almost?? IDK, just lemme know what you think and we can add or subtract lol.

She has been in Symphonia her whole life, I'm sure she has met him before but if not that is fine too. Reaction upon first meeting him, she would have freaked out. Because she doesn't believe in Supernaturals and it is hard to deny such a thing when he is standing in front of her. I feel like after a while she could learn to accept him though, it really depends on how he acts around her because she will be blunt sometimes. I just want to see him eat some baked goods because why not? I feel like she will find his interactions with animals to be adorable. So maybe they can have a love hate relationship or something? Until they start to know the each other anyway. What do you think?

Nychta probably wanted to smell the flowers he grows at some point in the past and completely forgot for a moment that he would just unintentionally kill them with frost. Cue deer in the headlights once he's caught before he turns around and books it. Comes back a few weeks later because he noticed CATS.

Cecil would probably have to try and ignore him for quite some time. He'd keep coming back every now and then just to pet the cats. Cecil might walk out one day and find a pile of cats with Nychta buried underneath. It's ok, it's perfectly normal.

Chill friends or something works well, especially if Cecil starts out by pretending he isn't there. Gives both of them the time needed to adjust to one another's presence. It might even be more recently that they started actually talking to one another. Just pardon Nychta's harsh tongue if he gets asked questions he doesn't want to answer to a human.

Nychta is obviously just a weirdo in a costume with some sort of white paint on his feet to 'frost' everything he steps on.

I could possibly see them meeting when she was younger since it was about twenty years ago when he finally came to Symphonia. He might have been a little careless as he was scoping out the area and met a then-toddler-or-preschooler Riley. That could have lead to maybe her thinking he wasn't real, like an imaginary friend of sorts, even though he would not have stuck around to actually be labeled that.

Then they could meet again by chance recently and have her deal with the horned man followed by the cold. Until he's used to someone's presence, he's pretty closed off. He might not even talk to her except for mumbled replies here and there. Get a little more comfortable and he'll talk more, but he'd be blunt right back at her. He's hard to anger unless you pose a threat to someone or something he loves, betray him, or ask personal questions before he fully trusts you

She can also lure him out with baked goods. Just leave it on the ground and say it's chocolate, hide behind a bush, and he'll slowly creep out to steal it. Boy loves his chocolate.

She would think he was her imaginary friend if she met him at that age. Awww he missed out on such a cute nickname. I should give him one now.... better late then never. She would freak out when she sees him again and come to realize that she hadn't dreamed it, he is real... Maybe when she was younger she gave him some baked cookies her parents had prepared or something? It might give him a reason to come for her to see him? <3

Just watch her try and talk to him, it will be funny to see. I can see her trying to ask him personal questions unless he proves uninterested in answering. Even if he gave a rude reply she would sooner or later quit asking him, or at least she would try and bribe him with treats first. It will happen, then of course she will find amusement from him eating her baked goods.[/s]

So yeah even an accidentally unintentional kill probably has Nychta on his list, no matter how long ago it was. But since he didn't like kill the cats and hasn't like massacred all of his fields, Cecil didn't chase him off. Plus let's be real, a few of them are probably fickle and prefer Nychta to Cecil.

But yeah maybe they've just been in like silence for a while, maybe Cecil only speaking to tell him the names of some of the cats, like he hasn't even introduced himself yet. Just the cats. And maybe talked about the flowers. In fact, Nychta has probably heard Cecil talk more to any plants on his farm than to Nychta.

BUT YEAH maybe a thread between them could just them do their brand of hanging out, testing out what conversation they want to have? AS VAGUE AS THAT SOUNDS. Or like Cecil acquired a new stray recently so of COURSE, Nychta has to come visit it??

He's sorryyyyyy. ;-; He'd probably avoid the flowers like the plague after that happened. Bring him small gifts to make up for it once he realizes he did a bad thing. Gonna leave shiny rocks and whatnot on his doorstep before making off with some of his cats.

He'll know every single cat and finally maybe get a name after three years. He'd probably find him talking to plants adorable, but he'll keep his snickers to himself.

Both. Nychta's cat senses were tingling, so he finally visits again after being a no show for a month or so. Then they can go from there!

Cookies definitely would have been a way to make him linger long enough that she remembered what he looked like to some extent. He probably would have turned up his nose and bolted otherwise. Though any attempts at conversation from her child self would have been met with silence as he nibbled on all the cookies.

Eating baked goods is a serious matter and there's nothing amusing about it! u:< Other than when he complains that he would rather have a bar of chocolate or end up criticizing the chocolate she used. Store bought chocolate chips? Heathen. he complains as he keeps shoving cookies into his mouth.

One of the few memories she has of him.... but seeing as he was silent, it only encouraged her to try harder to get him to open up. She is going to find his complaining amusing since he would be eating the cookies anyway. So where should she run into him again, I think I heard outskirts though I don't see Riley going over there unless she was trying to lure him out with cookies or something.

He can be found in the outskirts and especially the woods. If we're going with a first official meeting, then we could do a not-so-little red riding hood thing where she's delivery baked goods to a customer but gets stopped because the not-so-big bad wolf smelled cookies. 8D

Well she could be meeting up with friends and bringing baked goods with her, though I do like the idea of her possibly delivery to customers in the near future too. She will likely be scared at first until she realizes he wants cookies. <3

A toxic relationship sounds amazing for him. Think he's getting and friend and... probably has to have someone else tell him that he needs to ditch her, honestly. The thing about Nychta and toxic relationships is that he would be unaware or just unwilling to believe it on his own. After all, if you've been alone all your life, you would cling to what you can get or push it all away at the start.
